![]() It still has its problems (client, no MMR shown, no role swap or position swap, smurfs, bots). League was a great game back then and still is a great game right now. The large amount of players coming in and a lot of balancing problems that came up over the years. The client started to leak and made more and more problems. The servers, especially in EU for the first years (none Riot servers). I have no problem if Riot uses data to balance the game, but I dont like it when people just look up WRs and pick a champ or a counter based on that instead of having to think about it.īut aside from that these times also had a lot of problems. I think this was mostly a better time due to the lack of stat sites. You now have Udyr and Heca right now.ĭue to the lack of stat sites back then you nearly never knew if something was really OP or just felt OP, making it harder to abuse for the masses. Xin on release was so oppressive in lane that nobody could get close to him or he would dash to you and kill you, or at least force you back.īut these things happened step by step not all at once, so it wasnt that much different from today. Alistar had insane AP ratios and base dmg for his CC. TF had his teleport on a basic ability and the R just gave vision. ![]() The balancing was way different and yes, there was a lot of sleeper OP shit. Back then League was even playable via steam but was removed due to the rivalry with Dota2. Steam or you use some P2P service like torrent. ![]() Own launchers and update services weren't a thing yet. ![]() The client was never the fastest but it mostly worked for playing the game and back then these P2P things werent that uncommon to use for smaller games and even some larger ones.
